Inspired by the mastery of vintage surfboards, Deslizantes Leão was born in 2021, where a passion for surfing and tradition merge. Fernando Leão, a true enthusiast of classic boards, is dedicated to the art of building unique surfboards, handmade using original methods.

FROM DREAM TO REALITY

Even before he started making his own boards, Fernando was lucky enough to witness the process of several old-school shapers firsthand. The real turning point came when his friend Lucas invited him to join the Perfect Designs adventure.

Together, they started working with foam and resins, discovering the secrets of surfboard creation.

"One day, I decided to make a surfboard from scratch in my grandfather's garage, and when I showed it to my friends, they liked it too and wanted boards just like it, and that’s how Deslizantes Leão was born."

Today, in Viana do Castelo, Fernando dedicates himself to crafting classic surfboards, handmade from start to finish. From the generous glassing of the boards, which makes them more durable, to the creation of the fins, he follows original methods and strives to be as eco-friendly as possible.

SAFETY AND STYLE

Since working with resins and other materials can be dangerous, Fernando takes serious precautions. He wears TOWORKFOR shoes, which are not only safe but also comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. They are ideal for his daily routine between surf lessons and the workshop.
